About
About Austin Tech News Live
Austin Tech News Live is an independent, current read on the Austin, Texas tech scene — who's hiring this week, what's launching, and which companies are moving in, expanding or pulling back. We try to say plainly what's happening right now, hype stripped out.
What this site covers
We follow three signals and read them together: the hiring (openings and cuts alike), the launches (products, funding rounds, office openings), and the moves (relocations, expansions, mergers and the occasional retreat). The wire carries the running news as it breaks; the guide sections keep the context straight.
How we read it
Austin is a genuine boomtown, and boomtowns attract a lot of breathless coverage. Our bias is the opposite — toward what actually shipped, what's merely announced, and what the week's news costs the people already here. We write our own words and make our own calls about what matters. We don't republish anyone else's roundups, awards or list-style compilations.
Our place in the Austin coverage
Several good sites cover Austin tech, and we'd rather add than echo. Our lane is the live pulse — the week's hiring, launches and company moves — read as it happens. For the longer arc of how the city became a tech town, see our sibling ATX Tech News Now.
